The Northern District of New York announced on Apr. 21 that registration is now open for the 2026 POWER Act: Domestic Violence Victim Representation Information Session, scheduled to take place virtually on May 20 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The event aims to highlight the importance of pro bono legal representation and advocacy for victims and survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The session is co-sponsored by 59 districts, including the District of New Jersey.

Organizers said there is no fee to attend this program. The event is pending approval by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for continuing legal education credit—specifically, it may qualify for up to 1.2 hours in total with one hour eligible as ethics or professionalism credit.

Those interested in participating are invited to register online before May 15. After registering, participants will receive a link to join approximately two days prior to the virtual session.

For additional questions about the program or registration process, attendees are encouraged to contact Melissa Connolly at Melissa_Connolly@njd.uscourts.gov.
