In a recent class action lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, plaintiffs Jerry Gibbs, Robert Register, Hamidah Waldron, and Edward Arnold have accused BMW of North America, LLC of failing to address a defect in their vehicles’ electrical starters. The complaint alleges that this defect can lead to overheating and pose a fire hazard. This issue affects multiple BMW models and has led to a recall of approximately 145,000 vehicles. Despite previous recalls aimed at addressing similar issues, plaintiffs claim that BMW has not provided an adequate remedy. The plaintiffs are seeking damages exceeding $5 million and demand a jury trial.
