Myron Williams, also known as “Money” and “Tunchi,” has been sentenced to life imprisonment on multiple charges, including racketeering conspiracy and murder in aid of racketeering. The sentencing was delivered by Judge Michael E. Farbiarz in Newark. Williams received additional sentences for drug-related offenses and firearm use during a violent crime, all to be served consecutively.

Williams’s co-defendant, Khalil Kelley, referred to as “Billski,” was sentenced earlier this month to life imprisonment with an additional ten-year term for his involvement with the Marion Gardens street gang and a related murder.

Jawaad Davis from Jersey City received a sentence of 170 months for his participation in the gang activities, which included orchestrating a robbery that led to murder.

Eight other individuals involved are awaiting sentencing. Among them is Roger Pickett, known as “Zy G,” who was convicted alongside Williams and Kelley. The remaining defendants have pleaded guilty and will face sentencing in the coming months before Judge Farbiarz.

The defendants were part of a street gang linked to the Marion Gardens Housing Complex. Since 2013, they have been involved in various violent acts, including three murders committed between March 2021 and November 2022.

On March 29, 2021, Kelley and others lured a rival gang member outside using Instagram messages impersonating an ally. The victim was shot upon opening his door. On November 20, 2021, Myron Williams participated in a similar setup leading to another murder. On November 1, 2022, Davis coordinated a narcotics transaction that resulted in robbery and murder by Pickett.

Investigators documented numerous drug transactions around the Marion Gardens Housing Complex over several months. Herbert Thomas was identified as a primary supplier of narcotics to the gang.

During arrests on March 17, 2023, law enforcement seized various contraband items from different locations connected to the defendants.

U.S. Attorney Habba credited several agencies for their roles in the investigation that led to these convictions. These include Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office’s Gang Intelligence Unit and Homicide Unit under Prosecutor Esther Suarez; ATF under Special Agent L.C. Cheeks Jr.; Jersey City Police Department under Director James Shea; FBI under Special Agent Stefanie Roddy; and U.S. Marshals under Juan Mattos.

This case is part of the Jersey City Violent Crime Initiative (VCI), formed in 2018 by federal and local agencies to combat violent crime in Jersey City through strategic collaboration among various law enforcement bodies.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Desiree Grace along with Assistant U.S. Attorneys John Maloy and Javon Henry represented the government in this case.
