The Bankruptcy Noticing Center announced on Mar. 13 that it will suspend mailing notices to certain international addresses beginning March 9, 2026. The suspension affects recipient addresses in a list of countries where the United States Postal Service has temporarily halted international mail acceptance due to transportation issues or service disruptions.
This change means that bankruptcy notices destined for affected countries will be bypassed and not mailed. Recipients whose notices are bypassed will be listed in the bypass section of the Certificate of Notice. The current list of impacted countries is available on the Bankruptcy Noticing Center website under the “What’s New” section and is updated periodically.
Countries currently affected by this suspension include Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Bahrain, Belarus, Bhutan, Cuba, Djibouti, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Libya, Madagascar, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Seychelles, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and Yemen.
The Postal Service recommends checking its website for the latest updates regarding international mail acceptance and service status. Users can visit https://www.usps.com and select “International” for more information.
The Bankruptcy Noticing Center said these measures are being taken due to inadequate transportation options or ongoing service disruptions within the listed countries. The situation will continue to be monitored and updates provided as necessary.
